Fergus Clancy

Fergus is one of Ireland’s most accomplished healthcare executives. He is Principal of FC Advisory, a boutique advisory firm operating exclusively in the Irish health sector.

Fergus is Chairman of TriCastle Healthcare Capital. TriCastle is a specialist investment firm that provides financial and strategic support to high-potential healthcare businesses.
Fergus is Chairman of the Mater Private Healthcare Group. He was previously CEO and led a management buy-out of that business in 2007, back by a London-based private equity firm. During his 10 years in that role he led the organisation through a period of significant growth. More recently Fergus advised on and participated in the acquisition of the group by a Paris-based investment fund, following which he was appointed non-executive chairman.

Fergus also advised on and participated in the acquisition of CareChoice in 2017. CareChoice is fast becoming Ireland’s largest and leading nursing home group. The company currently owns and operates 11 high-quality nursing homes, with a total of c1,150 beds.

Fergus is chairman of Pieta House, a national mental health charity working in the area of suicide and self-harm. Pieta operates 15 centres nationally.

Fergus is a former member of the Medical Council and continues to be a member of its Fitness to Practice Committee. He as sat on numerous advisory boards for the Department of Health, and HIQA.

Fergus has lectured on post-graduate courses at University College Dublin and University of Virginia. He holds a Master’s in Business Leadership & Management from the UCD Smurfit Business School and has undertaken executive education programmes at Harvard Business School and at the London Business School.
