Dr Walley graduated from UCD in 1987 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degrees and post qualification went on to complete a Diploma in Obstetrics from RCPI. He has a Certificate in Aviation Medicine and has practised as an Aviation Medical Examiner in Ireland. He completed his postgraduate GP training on the NHS East Sussex GP vocational Training Scheme in 1993. Dr Walley has a Diploma in Medical Management (RCSI / IPA) with a focus on change management. Dr Walley was a GP unit Doctor with the Northern Area Health Board from 1999 to 2009 and was the development co-ordinator and founding Chairperson of the much acclaimed North Dublin GP Coop / DDOC in 2004-2006.
Dr Walley is both a past Chairman of the GP Committee and President of the Irish Medical organisation (IMO). He continues to be a member of the IMO GP sub-committee and a Council member. He is a Member of The UK Royal College and Irish College of General Practitioners. Dr Walley is a General Practitioner based in North Dublin.
Dr Walley is a Director of Medisec Ireland Limited and a member of the Medisec GP advisory team. He is a GP Trainer on the HSE DML (UCD) Training Scheme.
Dr Walley is current Vice President of CPME, the Brussels based Standing Committee of European Doctors representing 30 national medical organisations for 2019 – 2022. His particular responsibility in CPME is in regard to ”digital health”.
Dr Walley has spoken at a number of GP Conferences in the last year, ICGP AGM May 2018 and IMO Ireland Conference September 2018.
